A Drop of Life

Thrown and altered stoneware, Ceramic glazes, Luster Glaze

Vase: H: 6.75” D: 4” | Bowl: H: 3.5” D: 5.5” | Plate: H: 1.5” D: 8”

My final project for the 2022 school year, A Drop of Life is a discussion between the way water flows and how plants bloom. I wanted to take a slightly different approach with this piece, focusing on the nuance and less on the large impact. Using a combination of homemade matte and glossy glazes I created a flowy and deeply contrasting color scheme to pair with the very soft shapes of each part. I wanted to use gold ceramic luster to give an extra layer of opulence.
