Celadon Dragon Teapot

Coil built Stoneware, Celadon glaze and mason stain washes

L: 7" w: 12.5" h: 10"

This is the first ceramic piece I made while studying in Kutztown University. Finished near the middle of the fall semester of 2021, I put a ton of thought and effort into this piece, partially because I could finally sink my teeth into ceramics and partially because I wanted to prove myself to the ceramics professor and team at the time. Drawing from my love of dragons and the classical Edo period celadon ceramics I created this coil built teapot. While its functionality is limited as a teapot, it does hold and pour water. It sits proudly on my bookshelf, guarding my books.
